The following are genuine comments passed on by our patients.
- I consulted Victoria as I was suffering from acute sciatica (a chronic condition I have lived with ever since my first pregnancy 24 years ago which occasionally flares up). I was unable to sit properly, walk for any distance or even lie still in any position with comfort, disturbing my sleep. This had a severe impact on my ability to concentrate on my work and to rest adequately. The condition had continued for some time and I was really getting desperate.
Over the course of four treatments, Victoria used a combination of gentle movements and more assertive manipulations, focused primarily at my lower spine and torso, with the result that I experienced progressive pain relief.
During the final session, in particular, something happened during one manoeuvre that seemed to 'click' some part of my system back into place (that's how it felt), and by the time I got home I was feeling very well, absolutely without pain, and walking with a spring in my step again for the first time in months. What's even better, the pain has not come back!
I am so grateful to be able to sit at my desk and to pursue my various activities and hobbies without pain, not to mention to have the simple but incalculable joy of not constantly being woken during the night.

Six weeks ago I consulted Victoria. She made detailed notes not only of my complaint, but of past and present general health.
Over the course of four treatments she carefully applied pressure to tender areas in the arm and neck and gave me a couple of easy exercises to do at home. The pain has gradually improved and I can now eat with comfort. I felt complete confidence in Victoria from my very first visit.

Vic saw me 8 days after the injury and was brilliant. She helped to release my back by gentle rocking and firm manipulation. I was a little sore afterwards but could finally straighten up. I needed to see her twice more and only missed 2 weeks of work down to her specialist treatment.
I would recommend her for this sort of back injury. GP's can only really help with pain relief but not the source of the problem.
Phil Stanbridge (50), Postman.
As a result of tightly clenching my jaw (both at night during sleep and
during the day) I started getting aches around my ears, the back of my
neck and across the roof of my mouth.
I already knew of the Osteopathy service at Barnwell Medical Centre from previous treatments for back problems so booked in to see if they could help. Victoria used a very gentle manipulation technique to relieve my symptoms and 'release' the muscles in my jaw.
It was very relaxing and I felt a bit light headed
afterwards but the effects were immediate and after 2 treatments the
problem was gone.

I first went to Victoria as I had aggravated my shoulder while exercising.
I had had a rotator cuff injury 20 years before and I was concerned that if
I did not get it looked at, it might cause me problems in later life.
Victoria's treatment was thorough, effective and reassuring. She worked on
my shoulder and spine for the first two sessions, and her manipulation and
rocking helped to improve my flexibility and ease the soreness.
She explained what she was doing, which was really interesting, as well as
putting everything in context so that I could understand why I might have
had problems.
The treatment was always enjoyable and never uncomfortable. There was also the reassuring series of clicks as the muscles relaxed! By the third and final session, I had made a great improvement and had some neck manipulation to complete the treatment.
Victoria also gave me a series of exercises to
do which should strengthen my shoulder and this might help prevent future
problems.
